The World's First Wellness Fabric and Yarn

Three cards labeled yarn, fabric, and Imperium Fiber registered at grade TX-A
What is the world's first wellness fabric and yarn?+

Imperium Fiber presents its hemp-lyocell and hemp-cotton yarns and cloth as the world's first wellness fabric and yarn: plant-based, registered at Grade TX-A, and not yet a conformity claim.

Imperium Fiber is introducing what it calls the world's first wellness fabric and yarn. The journal phrase is "the world's first wellness fiber for textiles": plant-based yarn and cloth, with hemp as the fiber the grade is written on. HFGA is not in a position to survey every mill on earth and stamp "first." We can say what the product is, which hemp wins are already public, and what the registry does and does not prove.

Imperium's own page is the claim. Heartland Industries makes the fiber. HFGA is affiliated with Heartland. The affiliation is disclosed here, and it is disclosed on the registry, because a standard body that hides a commercial interest is not a standard body.

What This Wellness Fabric and Yarn Is

A wellness fabric and yarn, in the definition Imperium published, is plant-based material for clothes and home textiles that sit on skin. The cloth is not a polyester filament ground. The yarn is the cone the mill knits or weaves. Hemp is the centerpiece because the bast is the US-grown fiber the grade names. Lyocell, Supima cotton, or wool is the partner fiber for hand, drape, or insulation.

Industrial hemp in this product is Farm Bill fiber at or below 0.3% delta-9 THC. It is not marijuana. The short definitions sit on what a wellness fabric is and what a wellness yarn is. Imperium's index of the same split is the journal.

Where Hemp Wins in This Wellness Fabric and Yarn

Three wins are already on paper. A spinner can name a count. A standard can name a grade. A registry can name the product without calling it certified.

One Wellness Fabric and Yarn, Three Cones

The wellness fabric and yarn does not ship as a single mystery blend. Activewear and swim are plied 40/2 hemp-lyocell. Home textiles are US hemp with Supima at sheet counts such as 24s/1 and 38s/1. Outerwear is 24s hemp with wool. Those are Imperium's published constructions, written up under wellness yarn for activewear, home textiles, and outerwear. Our GSM and bed-linen notes show what 24s/1 and 38s/1 can support: about 160–260 GSM and 110–190 GSM, and 120–200 thread-count sheeting when the sett matches.

Grade TX-A Is the Wellness Fabric and Yarn a Contract Can Cite

Cotton-system spinning needs cottonized bast. That is Grade TX-A on the HFGA US Hemp Textile Standard, not wet-spun long-line. US hemp spun with Supima is the mill win already written up. Seed still has to be certified. AOSCA is the seed framework. USDA AMS is the license. Heartland says this hemp uses about 95% less water than cotton. That is their figure. The grade is ours to define and theirs to hit.

First in the Registry Is Not a Finished Certificate

Imperium Fiber is the first product registered against that standard, at Grade TX-A. The registration article keeps the limit in view: registered, not a conformity claim, until a lot verification record exists. The registry entry is public so a buyer can check the words against the standard. A wellness fabric and yarn that skips that sentence is advertising. One that includes it is a spec.

How to Read the First Wellness Fabric and Yarn

Read the yarn and the cloth as a pair. Then read what they replace, and what they do not.

Match the Wellness Fabric and Yarn to the End Use

Do not put the 40/2 gym cone on a sheet warp, and do not put a Supima sheet yarn into a compression bra and hope the knit saves you. Wellness fabric for activewear and for home textiles are different cloths on the same hemp idea. Buyers of US hemp fiber still purchase a grade, not a mood.

Filament Leaves; Elastane Has to Be Named

The wellness fabric and yarn drops polyester and nylon filament from the body. That is the microfiber win: no polyester filament, no polyester shed. Instead of polyester and instead of nylon say so. Elastane for recovery, when a swim or active knit needs it, is disclosed by percentage. Pretending the garment is plastic-free when the recovery yarn is elastane would break the definition. Our polyester alternative holds the same line.

Growers See a Textile Acre, Not a New Crop Fairy Tale

The wellness fabric and yarn pulls on the same licensed acre as any other textile hemp: certified seed, a clean bale, and a buyer before planting. Heartland's route is a rotation with farmers who already grow corn, soy, alfalfa, or cotton. It is not a promise that every acre out-earns the incumbent crop. It is a contracted block with a named grade. That is the profit sentence. Trust is the registry limit. Education is the count.

FAQ

Quick answers from this article.

Who is calling this the world's first wellness fabric and yarn?+

Imperium Fiber's journal calls Imperium the world's first wellness fiber for textiles, sold as yarn and as fabric. HFGA reports that claim and does not audit every other fiber company on earth.

What hemp product is the wellness fabric and yarn built on?+

Hemp. Activewear and swim use 40/2 hemp-lyocell. Home textiles use US hemp with Supima. Outerwear uses 24s hemp with wool. The bast is aimed at Grade TX-A.

Is the first wellness fabric and yarn certified?+

No. Imperium Fiber is the first product registered to the HFGA US Hemp Textile Standard at Grade TX-A. Registration is not a conformity claim until a lot verification record exists.

Does the wellness fabric and yarn shed polyester microfiber?+

The body is plant fiber, so it has no polyester filament to shed. If a knit includes elastane for recovery, Imperium says that percentage is disclosed separately.

Where do I read the wellness fabric and yarn specs?+

Start at Imperium Fiber's journal and at heartland.io. HFGA's pages cover the TX-A registration, Supima spinning, yarn counts, and the US Hemp Textile Standard.
